For those not in the know, Patricio Morales, Chilean born and Swiss national, is an Emmy award-winning composer and guitarist. His music reflects the many cultures in which he has been immersed, combining elements of jazz, folk, and classical music, distilling the best features of each, and always evoking the spirit of his native Chile.

For his brand new album La Tierra Canta (out April 1st, 2025 via NorthSouth Records), he has gathered an exceptionally talented group of versatile musicians, including Vitor Goncalves on accordion and piano, bassist Sebastian De Urquiza with Pablo Menares on one track, drummer-percussionist Rodrigo Recabarren, percussionist Rogerio Boccato, mandolinist Daniel Zamalloa, and Kahil Nayton on the cavaquinho, a small Portuguese string instrument.

It has already been said that La Tierra Canta is Patricio Morales’s finest recording to date. It showcases his consistent creativity with accessible and rich melodies that will appeal to a broad audience.

This magnificently heartfelt, genuinely engaging new recording opens on the flourishing beauty of the titular La Tierra Canta (The Earth Sings) and then we get more of his classical guitar stylings on Armando, a freshly arranged Tale Of Tales and then we are brought forth the beautiful ballad Canción Para Despedir A Emilia (Saying Goodbye to Emilia).

Blending his Chilean heritage with classical melodies, jazz improvisation, and World Music influences to perfection, along next is decadently jazzy Rural Reflections which is in turn followed by the melodically entertaining Papascal, the rhythmically invoking 4 De Diciembre, the album rounding out on the organic smoothness of Realismo Magico, closing on the lovely soundscape that becomes Keep In Touch.
