Title - Mission IV
Artist - Bowmen

With BOWMEN, grunge meets bluesy hard rock, somewhere between Alice in Chains and The Brew (Classic Rock Magazine, Issue 6/2020). In 2015, three music enthusiasts came together to celebrate energetic handmade rock music, free from clichés and mainstream: the trademark of BOWMEN.

This is impressively demonstrated on their two albums Mission 27°59’17“N 86°55’31“E (2016) and Play Some Rawk (2020).

Here on their brand new album Mission IV, they bring us eleven new songs (which include an acoustic version of one of the songs) showcases the band at their finest.

1. Demons
2. Said Or Done
3. Diggin’ In The Dirt
4. Fight The Tide
5. Hold Me Now
6. Broken Man
7. Still Got My Time
8. Memories
9. Palace Of The King
10. Rocket Man
11. Black Angel
12. Hold Me Now (Acoustic Version)

The album opens on the rhythmic metal of Demons and the searing guitar rocker Said Or Done and then come the heavier side of AOR on Diggin’ In The Dirt, the grooved metal rocker Fight The Tide, the mid-tempo ballad Hold Me Now, and then we get brought forth the melodic pop-rock of Broken Man.

The soaring Still Got My Time and the languishing ballad Memories are along next and are in turn backed by the foot-tapper Palace Of The King, the formidable Rocket Man (no, not the Elton John song!), coming to a close on the impassioned Black Angel and an acoustic version of Hold Me Now.

But BOWMEN are more than just studio recordings. Live performance is what Bowmen, reinforced by a second guitar since 2022, is all about. The stage is their personal therapy room, where they can fully unfold. Critics agree: Stefan Pfaffinger on bass and Christian Tilly Klaus on drums are a powerful duo on stage.

With their decades of experience, they bring a tremendous amount of energy with them, their performance can only be described as tight. Markus Escher convinces with soulfully intoned lyrics and charismatic stage presence, Jan Wendel provides additional pressure on the guitar parts.
