Title - Beyond This Place
Artist - Kenny Barron

For those unaware, on the heels of his GRAMMY-nominated solo album, ‘The Source’, Kenny Barron brings together a multi-generational quintet featuring some of the most acclaimed musicians of their time.

Along with Kenny Barron (13-time GRAMMY nominee, American Jazz Hall Of Fame), ‘Beyond This Place’ features saxophone’s rising star Immanuel Wilkins (“Divinely inspired jazz” - The New York Times), Jonathan Blake, one of the most accomplished drummers of his generation, Kiyoshi Kitagawa, Kenny Barron’s longtime double bassist, and Steve Nelson, one of the most highly regarded vibraphonists in the world.

1. The Nearness Of You
2. Scratch
3. Innocence
4. Blues On Stratford Road
5. Tragic Magic
6. Beyond This Place
7. Softly As In A Morning Sunrise
8. Sunset
9. We See

Beyond This Place is Kenny Barron’s second album on Artwork Records and this brand new recording opens on the veritably ethereal hipsway found within The Nearness Of You and that gives way to the playfully perky Scratch, the forthright Innocence, the frenetically cultured Blues On Stratford Road and the flirtatious Tragic Magic.

Along next on this stupendously rafted new album is the languishing beauty of the titular Beyond This Place which is in turn backed by the joyous opus Softly As In A Morning Sunrise, the album rounding out on the sweeping Sunset, closing on the dazzling We See.
