Title - Saxophone Quartet Music
Artist - Radam Schwartz

For those unaware, Radam Schwartz is well-known in the jazz world as one of the top organists. His associations with such notables as Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Al Hibbler, David Fathead Newman, Russell Malone and Cecil Brooks III.

His series of recordings as a leader have helped invigorate the hard bop and soul jazz traditions.

In addition to his organ and piano playing, Radam is a trained arranger-composer, and an influential jazz educator. He has written a series of pieces for a saxophone quartet and, for his latest project, he utilizes three of his most skilled students from the Jazz Institute of New Jersey (soprano-saxophonist Marcus G. Miller, altoist Irwin Hall, and tenor-saxophonist Anthony Ware) plus his friend baritonist Max Schweiger to play his memorable music.

1. Let’s Hear It For The Boy
2. Sway In Rincoin
3. The Ancients
4. Hands/With These Hands
5. Validation
6. As Long As You’re Remembered
7. Many Seasons Wise One
8. My Ship

This dazzlingly magical musical experience opens on the deliciously crafted Let’s Hear It For The Boy and the sprightly Sway In Rincoin and then we are brought forth the Latin-paced The Ancients and the all-embracing Hands/With These Hands.

Along next is the immersive Validation which is itself backed seamlessly by the vibrantly-sculpted As Long As You’re Remembered, the album rounding out on the dutifully embodied Many Seasons Wise One, closing on the harmoniously melodic My Ship.

Saxophone Quartet Music is a unique entry in Radam’s discography, showcasing his writing talents for an unusual ensemble and providing listeners with a set filled with fresh music, memorable tone colors, and swinging performances.
