The Kiel, Germany-based band INNER AXIS was founded in 2008 from the ashes of Midgard. However, the singer and bassist did not make it over.

A demo, called Into The Storm, was issued in 2015 and then they released a second video, this one for All Is One, taken from the new album We Live By The Steel (which was released through Fastball Music/Soulfood Music Distribution).

The band had two new tracks, released each as a digital single and as double-feature CD and 12” vinyl-Maxi, in 2021. Midnight Hunter was also made into a video. The band featured guitarist Nino Helfrich (also Iron Angel) and Annihilator bass player Rich Gray now.

Even with no bass player in sight, the band played at Kieler Woche in 2023 and now Inner Axis, the quintessential purveyor of classic metal excellence, proudly releases their highly anticipated new album Midnight Forces.

This vibrantly electric new recording opens on the propulsive I Am The Storm and the Asian-hued thunderbolt Strike Of The Cobra, and they are backed up by a 2023 master version of Midnight Hunter, before we are brought forth the euphorically-imbibed This Is The Way and the rousing Evil Dead.

Along next is the electrifying Spartan War-Cry and another 2023 master version, this time of Steelbladed Avenger, and they are in turn backed by the forthright Master & Commander, the album rounding out on the rhythmically melodic hard rock of Burn With Me, closing on the one true ballad of the new collection, Blade Of Glory.
