This enigmatically-charged, heartfelt and dulcetly structured new recording opens on the alluring, veritably smokey I Love You Porgy (featuring Cécile McLorin Salvant), the staggered bounce flow of the harmonically layered Wanderers (featuring Terence Blanchard) and then we get the sumptuous, free-flowing ease found within Throughout (featuring Bill Frisell).

Along next is the quietly sculptured, yet playfully enthusiastic Speak Joy (featuring Elena Pinderhughes) which is itself backed by my own personal favorite from this new collection, the deeper rhythmic resolutions within the fabulous Tenderly (featuring José James), the album coming to a close on the more stocially-charged In Anima (featuring Tigran Hamasyan).
