Title - Immigrant
Artist - Fuat Tuaç

For those unaware, Fuat Tuaç is a Toronto based jazz vocalist of Turkish Origin. After completing his degree in Jazz Studies in Montreal, he released his first album, Late Bloomer in late 2017 which received critical acclaim and still receives a lot of airplay on jazz radios over the world.

Fuat, who sings in five different languages and has a very eclectic repertoire, also performs regularly in Toronto and on the Istanbul jazz scene and he is now bringing out his sophomore album, The Immigrant (May 26th, 2023).

1. No Strings Attached
2. Asla Unutamam
3. Chez Moi (Duet with Kim Richardson)
4. Long & Winding Road
5. Immigrant
6. Aeroplane
7. Who’s That Man
8. Moss Park
9. La Rua Madureira
10. Stay
11. Uzun Ince Bir Yoldayim (a duet with Yeşim Akın)

This magnificently structured, wholly entrancing new recording opens on the richly rhythmic No Strings Attached and the exotic sounds within Asla Unutamam, and then seamlessly brings us the veritably shimmering Chez Moi (a duet with Kim Richardson), the drum-led, Eastern-hued delights of Long & Winding Road, and then we get delivered the sumptuous Immigrant.

The beloved Turkish/Canadian vocalist and performer next brings us the free-flowing musical majesties within Aeroplane and the treacle-stuck movement within Who’s That Man and they are in turn followed by the beautifully constructed Moss Park, the French-sung ballad La Rua Madureira, the album rounding out on the succinctly executed Stay, closing on the elegantly opulent Uzun Ince Bir Yoldayim (a duet with Yeşim Akın).
