Title - ...Meanwhile
Artist - Jon Allen

For those unaware, London-based singer-songwriter, Jon Allen is set to release his fifth studio album, ... meanwhile, available May 21st, 2021 on OK!Good Records.

The perfect blend of Jons acclaimed output as a songwriter the new album is very much a product of the times we are living in with introspective and emotional lyrics.

It has been almost three years since my last album and so much has changed for everybody. Global events have forced us to look inward and estranged us from the people who we once relied on. - Jon Allen.

In the last ten years, Jon has carved out a niche as a recording artist and live performer supporting such diverse artists as Damien Rice, Brian May, Seal and Dionne Warwick (whom he supported at the Albert Hall).

His songs and distinctive voice can be heard across films/TV both in the United Kingdom and in America, including hit shows Homeland and Bones, and movies like The Oranges, Save Haven and Army of One.

Oh, and he has also written songs for artists like Petula Clarke, Engelbert Humperdinck and record producer Guy Chambers.

1. Blame It All On Me
2. Cant Hold Back The Sun
3. Cruel World
4. Looking For The Light
5. Mercy
6. Suzanne
7. How Long
8. The Other Side
9. Western Shore
10. Hold On
11. Wrong

Opening on the truly resplendent opener Blame It All On Me and the joyous, foot-tapping melodies of Cant Hold Back The Sun, Allens whiskey-soaked voice embeds itself further into the lushly orchestrated Cruel World, and then we get the achingly earnest, mid-tempo Looking For The Light and the magnificent Mercy, and one of my own personal favorites, the free flowing, melodious Suzanne.

Next up on this collection of troubadour tales that come together to form an earworm of the times we are living in, is the staggered, yet orchestrally imbibed, one-two beat of How Long and the beautiful The Other Side, which are in turn followed by the gritty ballad Western Shore, the upliftingly euphonious first single from the album Hold On, and the closes out on another lo-fi acoustic ballad Wrong.

In 2011, Jon signed with OK!Good Records in North America releasing the critically-acclaimed Sweet Defeat. He followed it up with the folk-rock driven Deep River in 2014 and the soulful feel-good vibes of Blue Flame in 2018.
