Title - Earthway
Artist - Gabor Lesko

For those unaware, internationally renowned guitarist, teacher and producer with Rai, Warner and Universal, Gabor Lesko boasts collaborations with Tony Levin, Eric Marienthal, Simon Phillips, Steve Vai, Jimmy Haslip, Gianna Nannini and many others.

As a guitarist / artist, he has played headliner in some of the best Festivals and live clubs around the world, among the latest: London Acoustic Festival (2011), Fiuggi Guitar festival (2012), Crickvenica International Croatia (2013), Sarzana Acoustic meeting Italy (2014), Festival do Ceara (Brazil, 2015), Blue note Milan, Webster Hall New York, All Asia Boston, etc.

His personal style that mixes percussive guitar, Fusion jazz improvisation and songwriting, has made him a household name in Italy and abroad with four didactical books published and seven solo albums released thus far.

Out now is his latest effort, the quite phenomenal Earthway (May 14th, 2021), where Lesko is joined by several different bassists and drummers along with guest Eric Marienthal on soprano and the Milwaukee Brass Ensemble on two numbers.

1. Earthway
2. Fiesta
3. Still Here for You
4. Igor
5. Gently Obsessive
6. Push It!
7. Mickey Mouse Loves Jazz
8. Air (The Lost Key, Part 2)

On an album (his eighth as a leader) where Lesko contributes to all eight selections and also performs on a variety of guitars and keyboards and, as he himself puts it, everything else, we first get the multi-layered wonderment of the title track Earthway and then the magnificent, effervescent guitar work on Fiesta comes to the fore, with Lesko backing those up seamlessly with the translucent Still Here for You and then we get the pure gossamer of Igor.

With Leskos consistently inventive playing and writing truly at its finest here on Earthway, next up is the laid back, ethereal majesty of Gently Obsessive which is itself followed by the upbeat and perky Push It! before the albums rounds out on the playful Mickey Mouse Loves Jazz, closing on the sweepingly cinematic Air (The Lost Key, Part 2).
