Title - 'Same Day Delivery: Live'
Artist - Leslie Pintchik Trio

For those not in the know, before embarking on a career in jazz, Leslie Pintchik was a teaching assistant in English literature at Columbia University, where she also received her Master of Philosophy degree in seventeenth-century English literature.

Indeed she first surfaced on the Manhattan scene in a trio with legendary bassist Red Mitchell at Bradley's, and in the ensuing years Pintchik formed her own trio which performs regularly at New York City and East Coast jazz venues that include Jazz At Kitano, Bar Next Door, the Blue Note, Cornelia Street Cafe, 55 Bar, Smalls, Knickerbocker Bar and Grill, Alvin and Friends Restaurant, Scullers Jazz Club and the Side Door, among others.

Pintchik's debut CD So Glad To Be Here was released in June 2004, followed by Quartets in 2007, both on the Ambient record label. In the fall of 2010, she released her third CD We're Here To Listen, as well as a DVD Leslie Pintchik Quartet Live In Concert, both on the aptly-named Pintch Hard record label.

Pintchik's fourth CD In The Nature Of Things was released in 2014 and her fifth CD True North in March of 2016. Her sixth CD You Eat My Food, You Drink My Wine, You Steal My Girl! was released in February 2018 and reached #4 in the country for radio spins on JazzWeek; and also remained in the top 10 for five weeks.

And now the wait is over as her (Leslie Pintchik Trio) brand new, and seventh CD Same Day Delivery: Live was just released on October 18th, 2019, once again via Pintch Hard label.

1. 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes'
2. 'I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face'
3. 'There You Go'
4. 'Falling In Love Again'
5. 'Terse Tune'
6. 'Your call will be answered by our next available representative, in the order it was received. Please stay on the line; your call is important to us'
7. 'Tumbleweed'
8. 'Let's Get Lucky'
9. 'I'd Turn Back If I Were You'

From the off it's plainly obvious that this trio - Pintchik, Scott Hardy (bass) and Michael Sarin (drums) - were of good, upbeat, fun cheer when it came to performing this wondrous live show.

Recorded within a small club atmosphere, the opening 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes' has a most joyous flow and skip to it that you simply cannot help but smile throughout and that's followed by the laid back, and uber lush 'I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face.'

A duo of near nine minute wonders of musical art are up next in the form of the Pintchik-written, finger snappin' and foot tappin' 'There You Go,' and then the Friedrich Hollaender classic 'Falling In Love Again.'

The lofty 'Terse Tune' is another Pintchik original (and actually begins a run of originals until the album closes) and is backed seamlessly by the magnificently entitled, and perky 'Your call will be answered by our next available representative, in the order it was received. Please stay on the line; your call is important to us.'

The ambrosial 'Tumbleweed' is easily one of my own personal favorites here and is backed by the mellifluent, and so abundantly enraptured 'Let's Get Lucky,' with the album rounding out with the drum-led, upbeat beauty 'I'd Turn Back If I Were You.'
