Title - 'Shades'
Artist - Doyle Bramhall II

For those not in the know, Doyle Bramhall II is an American musician, producer, guitarist, and songwriter known for his work with Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, and many others.

The son of the songwriter and drummer Doyle Bramhall, Provogue Records will release Shades, his debut for the label, October 5th, 2018.

As you can already well imagine, Shades is a spellbinding blend of grungy blues, raucous garage rock, transcendent psychedelia, and soothing, soul-stirring ballads that sees Bramhall reaching new heights as a multi-instrumentalist.

For on the new album, Bramhall II plays guitars, bass, drums and keyboards, whilst commanding the controls of also being the producer and vocalist, of course.

1. 'Love And Pain'
2. 'Hammer Ring'
3. 'Everything You Need' (featuring Eric Clapton)
4. 'London To Tokyo'
5. 'Searching For Love' (featuring Norah Jones)
6. 'Live Forever' (featuring Greyhounds)
7. 'Break Apart To Mend'
8. 'She'll Come Around'
9. 'The Night'
10. 'Parvanah'
11. 'Consciousness'
12. 'Going Going Gone' (featuring Tedeschi Trucks Band

First up is a beautiful, crushingly impressive 'Love And Pain,' a track that oozes everything that is great about Bramhall, along with more than a hint of Lenny Kravitz's spirit gorgeously entwined. The forthright 'Hammer Ring' tells it like it is, with the beautiful duet with Eric Clapton 'Everything You Need' along next.

A sweet soul moment is caught up in the addictive 'London To Tokyo,' with the Norah Jones duet 'Searching For love' a pure, unadulterated joy to behold. Another gentle Kravitz-inspired track is 'Live Forever' (featuring Greyhounds, a musical duo from Austin, Texas), which is backed by both the stark piano ballad 'Break Apart To Mend' and then the mid-tempo blues jam, 'She'll Come Around.'

The tempo is turned up for one of the best tracks on the album, for my money, the soothing, righteous blues of 'The Night,' with the steely 'Parvanah' along next. The album then, sadly, rounds out with the summer road trip, windows down cut 'Consciousness,' and then 'Going, Going, Gone' (featuring Tedeschi Trucks Band).
