Title - 'White Christmas Blue'
Artist - Loretta Lynn

Loretta Lynn celebrates the holiday season with the new album White Christmas Blue! Her first collection of seasonal songs since 1966's Country Christmas features 12 new studio recordings made at Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

For those not in the know, and shame on you (sorry), Loretta Lynn is a multiple gold album American country music singer-songwriter whose work spans almost 60 years. She has received numerous awards and other accolades for her groundbreaking role in country music, including awards from both the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music as a duet partner and individual artist. She remains the most awarded female country recording artist, including her being the only female ACM Artist of the Decade (1970s).

1. "White Christmas Blue"
2. "Country Christmas"
3. "Winter Wonderland"
4. "Away In A Manger"
5. "Blue Christmas"
6. "To Heck with Ole Santa Claus"
7. "Frosty the Snowman"
8. "Oh Come, All Ye Faithful"
9. "Jingle Bells"
10. "White Christmas"
11. "Silent Night"
12. "'Twas the Night Before Christmas"

As for this incredible new Christmas album, well, it has to be said from the off that Lynn's voice is still as powerful, as resounding, as vibrant as it has ever been. Of that have faith. Indeed, her voice is just as good as it's always been. She doesn't show any signs of age in her voice at all. Only now she's recording on modern high tech equipment that captures her voice accurately rather than on the equipment that was available in 1963 when she started recording. So she ends up actually sounding BETTER on this album than she did early in her career. That's pretty awesome for a 83 year old!

Highlights, for me, at least, include "White Christmas Blue," a future yuletide classic newly penned by Loretta Lynn and Grammy Award winner Shawn Camp; new versions of two original compositions ("Country Christmas," "To Heck With Ole Santa Claus") which first appeared on Country Christmas; and soulful interpretations of traditional carols ("Away in a Manger," "O Come All Ye Faithful") and pop standards ("Winter Wonderland," "White Christmas").

In closing, I just want to reiterate that Loretta Lynn is still showing the vocal strength of a lifetime here on these well chosen Christmas classics and more and given that all 12 songs are sure to make your festive holiday all the more enjoyable, I would urge you, without a seconds pause, to rush out and purchase this CD on October 7th, 2016 - and try to prove me wrong!
