Title - '...and THE TRUTH will set you free...'
Artist - Dave Kilminster

Question: "What does it mean that ‘the truth will set you free’ (John 8:32)?" Answer: “The truth will set you free” is a common saying in academic circles, and all that goes with that, but here on Dave Kilminster's new album, the truth being freed is his own guitar handiwork.

Kilminster is a British guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and music teacher. He is known for touring with Keith Emerson (since 2002) and with Roger Waters on his The Dark Side of the Moon 2006–2008 tour, performing much of the guitar and vocal duties that are originally David Gilmour's. He also played alongside John Wetton (ex King Crimson), Ken Hensley (ex Uriah Heep), Qango (an Asia spin-off), The Nice, and Carl Palmer. Kilminster also toured as first guitarist with Roger Waters on his The Wall Live 2010–2013 tour.

So, a busy man, as you can tell, but still Kilminster wanted to allow THE TRUTH to come forth. Here on his new album, the singer/guitarist has reunited with drummer Pete Riley and bassist Phil Williams - who toured with Kilminster as part of the Keith Emerson Band, and also recorded with him on his first solo rock album Scarlet: The Director's Cut - to bring us an album whose lyrics are simply culled from whatever was on his mind at the time.

...And THE TRUTH Shall Set You Free... is, as fully expected, jam packed with some zingers from one of the world's most highly regarded virtuosos. Chock full of fantastic guitar playing, it doesn't rely on them to give punch to the album; but they don't harm it either.

With balls out tracks such as 'Messiah,' 'Save Me,' 'Thieves,' and 'The Fallen,' you know you're not getting a lighthearted ballad to tune into, but at the same time it's not what you probably purchased the CD for in the first place. Simply put, Kilminster musically walks your through the darkness into the light of complete understanding and recognition to his majestic, and heartfelt personal Truth.
