Verdict: As we all know by now, Witchcraft is a diverse, often self-directed practice involving the use of magic, energy manipulation, and nature-based spirituality to achieve personal or spiritual goals. It is not a single religion, but an umbrella term for varied traditions, ranging from folk magic and herbalism to modern, eclectic, or Wiccan practices. Common elements include using tools like candles, crystals, and tarot cards to focus intention.

All that said, and written by author Nixie Vale, herself a witch of over 25 years, over the years even she found that there were words and terms that even she didn’t know and had to turn to the internet for - or, back before the explosion of the internet and Google - the library.

While writing this book she found herself learning so many new things and so given she loves to learn new things and expand her own knowledge and understanding about her path and the craft that she loves, this book was definitely written as a labor of love.

Anima - This is the true inner self, or the soul. Jung used this term in his psychological practices. It can also be used to describe the unconscious part of your mind.

Asatru - This means faith in the Aesir, those who follow the Aesir gods of the Norse/Germanic religion.

Athame - Traditionally, this is black handled, double-sided knife used to inscribe candles, for example, in Witchcraft. It is always a blunt blade as it is not intended to cut anything.

Nixie is also a certified crystal healer with the School of Natural Health Sciences. She has studied color psychology and color magic extensively and her love of color and rainbows and ed to her moniker of Rainbow Witch.

About the Author - Nixie Vale has been a practicing Witch for 20 years and created Ramblings of a Rainbow Witch in 2012. She has a love and passion for writing and has written for Magical Recipes Online and The Spooky Isles magazines. She is a certified crystal Healer, meditation instructor, and a High Priestess ordained to do marriages and funerals.
