Pagan Portals - Spellcraft and Spellwork
By: Ariana Carrasca - Moon Books - $12.95

Overview: Spells are something that almost every magical practitioner utilizes. Often when stepping into the world of magic and spellcasting for the first time, it can be difficult to understand how to navigate crafting your first spell and what steps to take towards building your own personal practice. Spellcraft and Spellwork is a practical guide on the inner and outer workings of spellcasting.

Verdict: In short, this book brings the reader back to the basics, and introduces everything you need to know about crafting and working spells. The way in which each magic worker will craft their spell will vary greatly.

Author Ariana Carrasca provides explanations of the foundations of spellcasting in a way which highlights the practitioner’s own personal experience and to help them build a craft which is truly unique to them.

In what is not your atypical so-called spell book, what we have here in Pagan Portals - Spellcraft and Spellwork: A Guide to the Magical Practice of Spells is a magical set of eight chapters and a conclusion that tells it like it is from the start.

Opening by telling us that magic is a truly enigmatic, ancient force, that it is indeed something amazing, she continues with the fact that since humans have lived and connected to their environment, the practice of magic has captivated many.

Thus here within these 90 odd pages, we are lovingly guided through a most wondrous, enthralling, engaging world where as we walk, we are also given the tools to create your own connections to the magical practice of spells.

Informing us from the onset that a large majority of modern witchcraft consists of stems from European histories of witchcraft, and in particular, British witchcraft, the book is insightful, sensitively tremendous, and Ariana’s disciplined approach here is amazingly guided and profoundly spoken.

Not only is this book really well researched, but this most generous of teachers is a pure genius at taking us by the hand and walking us through this most colorful, and impassioned of magical, spellbinding landscapes.

About the Author - Ariana Carrasca, also known as The Oak Witch, creates educational witchcraft and paganism content as a creator on YouTube and writer. She is an ecologist, English folk witch and pagan, who has been in the craft for over a decade and hails from East Anglia, UK.
