A Mind Beyond Words
By: Jes Kerzen - 6th Books - $12.95

Overview: A poignantly compelling spiritual memoir about the strong and unusual bond forged between schoolteacher Jes and a six-year-old autistic boy, Asher, whose arrival in her class changed the trajectories of both their lives. While Jes taught Asher to communicate by speaking, Asher taught Jes telepathy, his first language.

Verdict: Their journey together, sometimes tragic, sometimes joyful, spans 25 years and leads them into an exploration of psychic and supernatural abilities. Once Jes has mastered telepathic communication, Asher, freed from the limitation of using words to communicate, can share with Jes his astonishing wisdom and information, derived from what he terms The Realms, a spiritual dimension beyond time and space.

Together they discuss such topics as creation, the afterlife, and the potential role of neurodivergent thinkers in expanding human experience, as well as contributing to the latest debates about consciousness as a universal field, in which we all participate. A Mind Beyond Words will speak both to spiritual seekers and to many who live with autistic or neurodivergent perceptions.

To me, this was a most fascinating memoir. Not only because the author, Jes Kerzen is a rather fantastic storyteller (although she most assuredly is), but moreover each carefully crafted, wholly impassioned page gives the reader yet another exciting, eye-opening, and decidedly authentic glimpse into Asher’s extrasensory gifts.

Having only just finished the book this after, I felt compelled to write this review whilst it was all still fresh in my mind, for it is well worth noting that I actually read the entirety of A Mind Beyond Words in just three sittings.

Jes’s experiences with her amazing student turned teacher, Asher, are both amazing and heartwarming, and as much as it might well have the knock on effect of becoming alluring to all curious seekers open to new ideas, it mainly has the ability to become a genuine eye-opener to all of us who know children/adults suffering from Autism.

As for the plot itself, well, Jes, a schoolteacher, is shocked when she meets Asher, a young student on the autism spectrum. Asher recognizes something in Jes. After testing her, Asher begins to unveil his unique, advanced perceptual reality, including telepathic abilities, and so much more.

In closing, throughout this tenderly impassioned book, Jes’s sincerest of love and devotional commitment to Asher rings genuine at all times, and allows us to follow along on their many adventures, and over many years, as he continued to break down her barriers and educate her; unfolding secrets that continued to broaden her then, and subsequently current understanding of reality.

About the Author - Jes Kerzen B.Phil is a retired teacher and mentor living in Glastonbury, Somerset. Her passion for working with young people on the autistic spectrum has inspired her to discover and research alternative and unconventional methods of communication and perception.
