Carrie-Ann Moss ('Matrix: Reloaded') Carrie-Ann Moss ('Matrix: Reloaded')
'Time To Fly'

Carrie-Anne Moss grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia as youngest of two children. At the age of 20 she moved to Europe to pursue a career in modeling. In Spain she managed to get a regular role in the TV show 'Dark Justice' (1991), which was produced in Barcelona for the 1st season, and followed it to the shooting locations in Los Angeles the next year. Later she appeared in numerous commercials and in the play "Outward Bound" at the Hudson Theater in Los Angeles.

Carrie-Ann has also gone on to star with each of the three main actors from 1994's 'The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert' in separate films: Hugo Weaving in 'The Matrix' (1999), Guy Pearce in 'Memento' (2000), and Terence Stamp in 'Red Planet' (2000). And, way back when, she was also a character in a television show also named ... "Matrix"!!!

Chatting with the beautiful young lady now, I first wondered how surprised she was by how 'The Matrix' was initially received and the ongoing interest that has been generated? "It was unbelievably awesome to see people respond to the first movie. It was very exciting, and the excitement goes on. You know, 'The Matrix' is a deep film with deep ideas. It makes you really think. It asks you to think, and I think people want that. You don't often get that with action films."

You broke your leg didn't you? Tell us how that happened "Yeah, I broke my leg a week into training, but I'm good now. I broke my leg on a wire. We were in the first week of training and it was a huge physical challenge to pull off right off the bat. But because of the first movie, I came into this film a little gung-ho, really ready to do it, and then I got an obstacle given to me right in the very beginning. But I'm all for obstacles to overcome. I had to sit out for six to eight weeks but I came to work everyday and watched them train and did what I could."

How do you feel about this sequel? "I feel very emotional about it. I'm on the verge of tears! I'm very proud of it and I'm very excited for people to see it."

Why is it that you think these films have generated so much interest? "Because of the story. Because of the content. Because of the messages in the films, the meaning, the ideas, the thinking for yourself and not being controlled by something other than you, to have your own point of view, to choose to believe in yourself, to believe in something. I just think it goes so deep. I could go on and on about it forever!"
