[MAY 12] Blood Bitch Baby (Blu-ray)
(Angel Nichole Bradford, Jessa Flux, Mel Heflin, et al / Blu-ray / NR / 2026 / Blood Sick Productions)
Overview: Blood Bitch Baby drags the infamous legend of Countess Elizabeth Bathory out of 17th-century Hungary and into the sleazy underbelly of modern-day America, where director Donald Farmer (Demon Queen, Shark Exorcist) unleashes his most twisted vision yet.
Forged in a pact with Satan himself, Bathory has survived through the ages, feeding on innocence and plotting the birth of her unholy master’s monstrous heir.
Blu-ray Verdict: Jessa Jupiter Flux (Murdercise, Debbie Does Demons) stars as the immortal countess, wielding her deadly allure to ensnare Jenny (Angel Bradford), a woman whose torment takes a dark new turn after Bathory grants her demonic powers. Those powers become both a curse and a weapon when Jenny turns them against her violently unstable boyfriend, Kevin - played with manic menace by Joe Casterline (Cannibal Hookers).
With its trademark mix of blood-drenched camp and VHS-era grit, Farmer transforms the Bathory mythos into a fever dream of gore, temptation, and revenge. Blood Bitch Baby doesn’t just update the legend - it mutates it, colliding satanic horror with exploitation cinema’s raw energy to produce something gleefully grotesque and utterly unpredictable.
The Blu-ray edition features a behind-the-scenes photo album, a director’s introduction by Donald Farmer alongside Kasper Meltedhair, and a reel of Blood Sick trailers for fans of the underground horror circuit. As Josh Schafer of Lunchmeat VHS Magazine raves, Abounding with blood, flesh, and bad dreams, this is the most bizarre twist of the Bathory mythos I’ve ever encountered.
Well, in my humble opinion, Ford Windstar once again shines. I don’t know if it is Donald Farmer being able to get what he wants out of his performers but there are a few that never let me down in his movies. Ford Windstar is one of those few. He plays his role with a serious demeanor that is greatly appreciated.
Jess Flux is great, like always. Her over-the-top presence helps the overall vibe in the best way possible. Angel Nichole Bradford is the star here. I don’t want to spoil anything though. I will say her reaction to what is happening is believable. Considering the zaniness of the plot, that says a lot. So yeah, once again, Donald Farmer and his crew have delivered more than I expected.
