Overview: Head back to the halls of Abbott when Warner Bros. Home Entertainment releases Abbott Elementary: The Complete Fourth Season on DVD April 21st, 2026.
The hit, award-winning comedy has another hilarious season following the dedicated teachers and staff at Abbott Elementary as they navigate the challenges of public school life with optimism, creativity, and plenty of laughs.
Fans can relive all 22 episodes from Season Four and enjoy the sharp humor and heartfelt moments that have made the series a fan favorite.
DVD Verdict: Season 4 of Abbott Elementary begins with the teachers returning from summer vacation to find that the neighboring construction of a new golf course is causing unexpected issues for the school, forcing the staff to find creative solutions.
Meanwhile, a visit from an HR representative adds another layer of chaos to the school year. And following their long-anticipated kiss, Janine and Gregory’s relationship status is finally revealed, leaving the Abbott crew to navigate the next chapter together.
Simply put, this is a comfort sitcom where you can just cool out and enjoy these characters going their usual school day lives at Willard R. Abbott Elementary School. The cast does a great job with their characters from Quinta Brunson as Janine Teagues, Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard and William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson.
They are such enjoyable characters and watching them teach their students is fun. I also enjoy how fun and smart this show with its use of humor and it feels natural for these characters and their situations. In truth, I just appreciate how this is one of the few modern day shows that actually releases new season on a yearly basis, so I can enjoy these characters and their relationships with each other.
I mean, come on now, the storylines are always hilarious. There are a lot of guest appearances, great special guest stars, and cameo appearances. Here in the brilliant fourth season they even do a crossover with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and that episode is oh-so veryfunny.
For me, the mockumentary style adds to the charm. The quick looks to the camera and awkward interviews make everyday school situations feel even more relatable. Each character brings something special to the story. Janine is optimistic and determined, even when things do not go as planned. Barbara is experienced and steady. Ava, the principal, adds chaotic energy and unexpected laughs.
The writing is clever but never cruel. The show gently pokes fun at school politics, bureaucracy, and personality clashes, yet it always shows respect for teachers and the important work they do. Beneath the comedy, there is a clear appreciation for education and community.
In closing, if you like The Office, Superstore, Community, The Paper, and Parks and Recreation then you’ll definitely fall in love with this show. At the end of the day the show is entertaining and brilliantly sculpted, one episode after another.
