The Inspector Wears Skirts 3
(Shui-Fan Fung, Sibelle Hu, Billy Lau, Fui-On Shing, et al / Blu-ray / NR / (1990) 2024 / 88 Films)

Overview: Inspector Kan (Shui-Fan Fung), now married to Madame Wu (Sibelle Hu), has been instructed to train the Banshee Squad Members after Madame Wu goes into semi-retirement. For their next mission, the Squad was assigned to go undercover into a Casino Ship to nab a group of thieves responsible for stolen law enforcement and military weapons.

Blu-ray Verdict: The third installment of the long-running series moves away from the action which was so noticeable in the first film towards more of a slapstick comedy.

Not a terrible thing, overall, but sadly Sibelle Hu’s screen time is limited here, but luckily the other actresses continue to make an impression. From Sandra Ng with her overbearing humor to Amy Yip’s constant sexuality innuendos and more!

As for the plot, well, the girls are in training for an undercover mission on board a floating casino. The training is more like a series of sadistic tortures (which are supposed to be funny), but you won’t feel too sorry for them, as you’ll feel like they, perhaps, could have undergone more and become better honed to what was coming!

Stanley Fung and Billy Lau are the male leads who spend the majority of the film training up the members before they’re let loose on a casino ship in the last half an hour. The action is in very short supply, sure, but as usual there’s an eclectic mix of styles and cast members.

It should also be noted that Shing Fui-on gets one of his more interesting roles, but overall, just how much you enjoy it depends on your tolerance for Hong Kong humor.
