Escape From Area 51 [Blu-ray + Bonus CD ]

(Donna D’Errico, Chris Browning, Caleb Thomas, Anouk Samuel, et al / Blu-ray + Audio CD / NR / 2021 / Cleopatra-Entertainment)

Overview: ESCAPE FROM AREA 51 begins when a group of teenage conspiracy theorists try to raid the infamous military base, Area 51, in the Nevada desert. No one gets in - but someone gets out!

Sheera (D’Errico), a sexy alien warrior, uses a power glitch to escape from captivity at Area 51. Her escape using a portal gun sets off an energy signature which attracts the attention of her arch-rival in space Sklarr (Browning).

Sheera must now elude an Area 51 scientist, as well as Sklarr, to rescue her fellow warrior and find her way back to her planet.

Blu-ray Verdict: Directed by Eric Mittleman from a screenplay co-written with Carlos Perez based on a story co-written by Ted Chalmers, Carlos Perez and Robert Rhine, this The Girls and Corpses-Sterling Entertainment-TomCat Films co-production - starring Donna D’Errico, Chris Browning, Anouk Samuel, Chloe Amen, Caleb Thomas, Zeke Jones and Veronica Farren - Escape From Area 51 is an all-out mega blast of colorful sci-fi fun stuff and complete nonsense!

Remember those old cheesy sci-fi movies from back in the day, when the sets wobbled, the acting was terrible, and the plot was as weak as a wet paper bag, well, welcome to the (we hope) purposefully bad Escape From Area 51.

If we look back at those old films today, we do so with a wry smile, as we know they knew what they were doing, given the budgets. So here in the often so bad it is downright hilarious Area 51, we now get a modern take on those awesome B-movies.

Chock full of (we hope, again) purposefully predictable plots, half decent acting, humorously overindulgent in the female cleavage shots, and some well below par sci-fi CGI moments, nevertheless, Area 51 will keep you chuckling along with it until the end.

[FYI: Frankie Sixx makes her film debut here in Escape From Area 51. She is the daughter of the films star Donna D’Errico (Baywatch) and Motley Crue founder/rock star Nikki Sixx].

This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and aside from the Bonus Features of a Theatrical Trailer, Image Slideshow and Cast Interviews, there is a complete Soundtrack CD that is included in this wondrous package:
