Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: Daniel Goes to School
(DVD / TV-Y / 2015 / PBS Kids)

Overview: Join Daniel Tiger and his friends as they head to school where they discover that learning and using your imagination is GRR-IFIC fun! So play along with Daniel and experience all the excitement of going to school!

DVD Verdict: 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' is an animated program for preschoolers ages 2 to 4. It actually builds on the pioneering PBS series, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Through imagination, creativity, and music, Daniel and his friends learn the key social skills necessary for school and for life.

Here on the wonderful 'Daniel Goes to School' we find ourselves with 8 grr-ific tales: 'A Trip to the Crayon Factory,' 'Be a Vegetable Taster!,' 'Line Leader Daniel,' 'Problem Solver Daniel,' 'The Class Votes,' 'O Builds a Tower,' 'Play Pretend,' and then 'Safety Patrol.'

As we follow Daniel's everyday adventures, preschoolers and their families learn fun and practical strategies and skills necessary for dealing with everyday experiences, like dealing with disappointment and discovering the joy of doing something kind for a neighbor. Here Daniel finds that everyone's job is important and that we all help each other in different ways. The the class gets a very special visit from Prince Tuesday, who takes everyone on a field trip to learn about safety beyond the classroom.

My 2-year old grandson LOVES this show! He is rarely still, but will sit through entire episodes of Daniel Tiger, responding to questions, singing along, and giving me "Ugga- mugga" kisses. He even has a "Tigey" he sleeps with! So, what more could you want?! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
