'Mirageman'
(Marko Zaror, María Elena Swett, et al / DVD / NR / (2007) 2009 / Magnolia Home Entertainment)

Overview: Maco, a young man orphaned after his parents and surviving younger brother were brutally attacked, lives a solitary life as a nightclub security guard. One day, he intervenes in a violent robbery, rescuing a television reporter, who later reports on her masked hero. Hearing of this new superhero, Maco's institutionalized brother s mental health improves.

DVD Verdict: Marko Zaror ('Kiltro') plays Maco, pure muscle who witnessed his parents robbed and killed and his little brother raped in front of his eyes. Though he tried to fight back, Maco could not save them and grew up into a bouncer - someone quietly progressing thru his life, not causing any trouble, just doing his job, taking any and all abuse, and going home alone.

One night while on a run, Maco stops the robbery and rape of TV reporter Carol Valdivieso (María Elena Swett) which sparks the consciousness of the public and his previously catatonic brother ... so, Maco does the only thing that any sane man can do, he sets out to be a superhero!

This is an action packed film compared to the poorer 'Kiltro.' It has many fight scenes. Marko actually hit and kicked the bad guys for real in this film - at least, that's the way it comes across! The only problem was the camera angles. They could have been so much better. As could the editing. I think they did too much of this quick-cut editing and it's just blinding on the eyes, hurtful on the brain! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
