Dark Shadows: Collection 2
(Joan Bennett, Jonathon Frid / 4-Disk DVD / Not Rated / (1966) 2002 / MPI Video)

Overview & DVD Verdict :With its alluring tales of Gothic mystery and supernatural intrigue, ’Dark Shadows’ became one of the most popular daytime series of all time. Since first airing on ABC-TV from 1966-71, ’Dark Shadows’ has earned the reputation as being one of the most unusual and enduring programs in television history. The character of Barnabas Collins, a guilt-ridden 175 -year-old vampire, brought the show tremendous success. And now, finally, after years of waiting, the entire ’Dark Shadows’ series is coming out on DVD. It's about time. This second collection (episodes 251-290) will begin to close off the Barnabas kidnapping Maggie storyline and begin to start up the Julia trying to cure Barnabas storyline. If you are a fan of the show, these DVD sets are a must have. If you are a fan of gothic horror or classic horror, like the old Hammer films, then this is the series for you. It's timelessly addictive, and will never die. These episodes are all Full-Screen Format and come with the Special Features of 40 Complete Episodes and Bonus Interviews with series creator/executive producer Dan Curtis and actors Alexandra Moltke, Nancy Barrett, and Dennis Patrick.
