Title - 'Something New' (Orange Deuce)
Artist - Mark Lane

Los Angeles based singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Mark Lane has finished his second album titled, Something New Out now on Orange Deuce Records, the album definitely has a refreshing sophistication, blended with a timeless California pop-rock feel lingering throughout.

The album begins with 'For Whom It Concerns,' a song whose acoustic guitar work bleeds beautifully into the lush lyrics that follow. Next up is the more poppy 'Matter Of Time,' a song that envelopes all that is good and uncluttered with how music once sounded. The piano-fused 'Back In The Swing' is next, with the beautiful 'Her' following close behind.

Lane plays all the instruments, with the exception of the string quartet, which is never more to the fore than on 'Hard To Believe' and then the Paul Simonesque 'King of Silence.' The musical drift of 'Please, Lillianne' is definitely a gentle flashback to an ELO era, before the gentle acoustic guitar of 'Paid In Gold' follows.

Then we get 'Little Things,' with Lane's organic sound continuing onwards with 'Something New,' before the album rounds out with, appropriatly enough, 'The Last Song.'
