Title - Live At The Basins Nightclub 1987
Artist - That Petrol Emotion

For those unaware, capturing That Petrol Emotion at the absolute height of their explosive powers, Live at The Basins Nightclub, 1987 is a raw, adrenaline-charged snapshot of one of the most electrifying alternative rock bands of the era.

Recorded on Thursday, 21st May 1987 at the legendary Basins Nightclub in Portsmouth, this performance showcases the band’s signature mix of jagged guitar energy, politically charged edge, and hook-laden songwriting.

Fresh off the momentum of their early releases, the band tears through a 16-track set with the urgency and conviction that made them cult heroes on both sides of the Irish Sea. Expect fierce performances, driving rhythms, and a crowd fully locked into the moment.

On what is an essential music flashback for fans of post-punk, alternative rock, and collectors of 1980’s live material, in general, this live CD opens on the gently throbbing Lifeblood, the pulsating rocker Belly Bugs, the melodic rock of Chester Burnette, the low slung affair It’s A Good Thing, the melodic hipsway of For What It’s Worth and then come the angst-ridden Mouth Crazy, the reverberating alt-pop sounds of Here It Is... Take It! and the full on Fleshprint.

Along next is the frenetically-charged Spin Cycle, the drum-led alt-rock of Genius Move, and the gritty Big Decision, and they are in turn backed seamlessly by the pulsing rocker Creeping To The Cross, the ferocious Split! and the rhythmically free-flowing Swamp, the set rounding out on another drum-led rocker in Can’t Stop, closing on the guitar pop-rock brilliance of Me & Baby Brother.

Remastered from the original analogue tapes, this release brings new life and clarity while preserving all the sweat-drenched atmosphere of a packed club in 1987. Presented as part of the Official Bootleg Series, this is an essential document for fans and collectors.
