Title - The Peacocks
Artist - The Alfie Jackson Sextet
For those unaware, Alfie Jackson is a New York City based vocalist/guitarist, mentored in Chicago by G Thomas Allen, Margaret Murphy-Webb, Kurt Elling and the Jazz Institute. Jackson recorded her debut album “The Peacocks” (Jackojazz) with her sextet back in 2023 and that release received rotation on WDCB, WNUR and Neil Tesser’s show in San Diego.
Furthermore, her set was a smash at last year’s Chicago Jazz Festival and she sold out at SPACE in Evanston, IL for her Album release.
This debut album from the Alfie Jackson Sextet features: Alfie on vocals and guitar; Sam Roberson, guitar; Leo Milano, sax; Wanye Williams, vibraphone; Chase Wilkins, drums and Daniel Ellis Perez, bass.

The set opens on the rhythmically emotive 500 Miles High and a dutifully free-flowing Nature Boy and then we get the dulcetly ambient After the Rain, the soft, yet buoyant swing of Inner Urge before the warmly cozy How Insensitive is brought forth.
Along next is the quietly alt rock-imbibed I Deserve This and the sheer elegance of My One and Only Love, and they are in turn backed by the upbeat and joyful Ugetsu, the stirring, bluesy Do I Move You?, the set coming to an all-too-soon close on the affectional title track The Peacocks.
