Title - Tangerine Records Ray Charles Remaster Series
Artist - Ray Charles
For those not in the know, founded by Ray Charles in the 1960s, Tangerine Records is proud to celebrate the 17x GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter, and pianist’s singular legacy with the Tangerine Master Series, a new slate of reissues highlighting Charles’ best-known music alongside classic records long out of print, and ready for rediscovery.
Each album in the series has been restored and remastered under the direct supervision of The Ray Charles Foundation, painting a vivid new portrait of an artist and icon whose impact continues to expand and inspire.
Recently, the Foundation released four albums as part of the Tangerine Records Master Series. Those albums which include Come Live with Me, Ingredients in a Recipe for Soul (1963), Love Country Style (1970), and No One Does It Like ... Ray Charles were released as individual projects throughout 2025.

Come Live with Me
1. “Till There Was You”
2. “If You Go Away”
3. “It Takes So Little Time”
4. “Come Live With Me”
5. “Somebody”
6. “Problems, Problems”
7. “Where Was He”
8. “Louise”
9. “Everybody Sing”
Come Live With Me showcases Charles in full 70’s crossover mode, featuring string-laden arrangements, country-tinged ballads and soulful soft rock. The front half arranged by longtime collaborator and conductor Sid Feller, highlights Charles’s emotive vocals on lush, orchestrated ballads such as “Till There Was You” and the title track, the latter of which was a Top 20 AC favorite. Whereas the second half shifts to a more upbeat, R&B flavor with tracks like “Somebody” and “Problems, Problems.”
In short, Come Live With Me is considered a significant work from Charles’ later career, demonstrating his unwavering ability to fuse pop sensibilities, soulful vocals, and orchestral arrangements into a cohesive and enjoyable listen. Furthermore, it’s seen as a strong testament to his continued creativity and mastery of different musical styles.

Ingredients in a Recipe for Soul
1. “Busted”
2. “Where Can I Go”
3. “Born To Be Blue”
4. “That Lucky Old Sun”
5. “Ol’ Man River”
6. “In The Evening (When The Sun Goes Down)”
7. “A Stranger In Town”
8. “Ol’ Man Time”
9. “Over The Rainbow”
10. “You’ll Never Walk Alone”
Ingredients In A Recipe For Soul proved that Ray Charles didn’t so much ignore genres, but, by the 60’s, had become a genre unto himself. An academic might want to separate this stack of songs into neat little buckets — country, jazz, standards, blues, pop — but those are just the ingredients. Ray Charles sings whatever he likes and whatever he sings comes out as a Ray Charles song, with a flavor all its own.
A top-10 stew of jazz, soul, and pop standards highlighted by the GRAMMY® Award-winning, Top 5 hit, “Busted,” as well as the top 20 favorite, “That Old Lucky Sun,” when the album arrived in August 1963, Ray Charles was already riding an unprecedented wave of success in the three years since leaving Atlantic Records for ABC-Paramount.
In short, it offers classic hits (the aforementioned “Busted”), great American standards (“Ol’ Man River” and “Over the Rainbow”) and thus comes with no filler whatsoever. With the help of conductor/arranger extraordinaire Marty Paich, Charles manages to outdo even himself with this album, in my humble opinion.

Mon Amie La Rose
1. “If You Were Mine”
2. “Ring Of Fire”
3. “Your Love Is So Doggone Good”
4. “Don’t Change On Me”
5. “Till I Can’t Take It Anymore”
6. “You’ve Still Got A Place In My Heart”
7. “I Keep It Hid”
8. “Sweet Memories”
9. “Good Morning Dear”
10. “Show Me The Sunshine”
Released at the dawn of the 1970’s, Love Country Style finds Ray Charles fully embracing his love for country music — delivering heartfelt renditions of songs by Mickey Newbury and Jimmy Webb with his signature blend of soul and sophistication.
Backed by lush gospel-tinged arrangements, the album highlights his unrivaled ability to transform country standards into something unmistakably his own.
The record became a fan favorite and remains one of the finest examples of Charles’ country crossover work and here on its re-release, well, the fact that it draws from top-shelf country material - such as “Ring Of Fire” (written by June Carter and Merle Kilgore and popularized by Johnny Cash) and “I Keep It Hid” (penned by Jimmy Webb, known for his classics “Wichita Lineman” and “By The Time I Get To Phoenix)” - simply highlight the overall strength of this release to perfection.

No One Does It Like ... Ray Charles
1. “My Baby Don’t Dig Me”
2. “Without Love (There Is Nothing)”
3. “The Brightest Smile In Town”
4. “Hide Nor Hair”
5. “My Baby (I Love Her, Yes I Do)”
6. “No One”
7. “Don’t Set Me Free”
8. “Something’s Wrong”
9. “At The Club”
10. “Worried Life Blues (Someday Baby)”
11. “Who You Gonna Love”
12. “My Heart Cries For You”
Lastly included in this new launch is No One Does It Like…Ray Charles! which collects for the first time ever a number of mid-1960s singles, B-sides, and non-LP tracks never before gathered together on a single cohesive album.
As you might have guessed by now, originally entitled Ray Charles Sings For You, an album that was supposed to be released in 1964/65, it was indeed set for release back then but late in the day got replaced by his Live in Concert album; that was released in 1965. Personally, “Without Love (I Have Nothing)” and “At The Club” are two of my all-time favorites, but you actually cannot knock anything else included here as it is a profoundly dutiful, and lovingly crafted compilation.
Indeed, from the fun and danceable “My Baby Don’t Dig Me” to the heart-wrenching, pleading and longing between Charles and Raelets lead vocalist (and Charles’ ex-girlfriend) Margie Hendrix on “My Baby (I Love Her, Yes I Do” to the jazz fueled orchestral arrangements provided by NEA Jazz Master Gerald Wilson on six of the albums twelve tracks, this set is nothing short of exhalative pure musical genius.
