Title - Long Time No See
Artist - Murky Red

For those not in the know, Long Time No See is an 8-track album and the third full-length release by Murky Red since their 2012 debut. Helmed by founding member Stef Flaming, the project has evolved through various incarnations — from a live band to a more focused studio endeavor.

This new album features the previously released single No Woman, Pineapple Sweet and the upcoming single and video Through the Chapel and the Cornrows. Also featured is The Maestro’s Shadow, a heartfelt tribute to the late Colin Tench, co-written by Flaming and his Transmission Rails collaborator, John Moulder.

Another notable highlight is a first for the band: a fresh take on Riders on the Storm, the iconic 1971 track by The Doors, reimagined in Murky Red’s unique style.

1. Pineapple Sweet [4:54]
2. Riders on the Storm [7:34]
3. Through the Chapel and the Cornrows [5:40]
4. Ian’s Beans [4:26]
5. No Woman [3:47]
6. Sister up there, in the Sky [4:24]
7. The Maestro’s Shadow [8:38]
8. Alle Aardse Dromen [4:35]

With Murky Red honoring their past whilst venturing boldly into new creative territories, they open this new recording on the melodically fluid Pineapple Sweet and then we get brought forth a rousingly prog-tastic, throaty cover of the Doors’ Riders on the Storm, a deeply emboldened Through the Chapel and the Cornrows, and the simply divine blues-lite rocker Ian’s Beans.

Along next is the languishing prog-driven No Woman which is itself backed seamlessly by the veritably shimmering prog balladry of Sister up there, in the Sky, the set rounding out on the esoterically ethereal beauty of The Maestro’s Shadow, closing on the grandeur-hued piano/percussion/guitar ballad Alle Aardse Dromen.
