Title - kissing other ppl
Artist - kissing other ppl

For those wondering, the brand new collaborative project called kissing other ppl featuring Rachel Baiman and Viv & Riley first released a lovely taste of the album with their version of Dr. Dog’s “Where’d All the Time Go” and now the full-length self-titled album is out!

As Rachel has said, the idea for recording music together was hatched on a cross-country tour in 2022. Long hours in the van listening to music revealed their shared tastes and they started daydreaming of capturing some songs together in the studio. They did just that in 2023, beautifully recorded and produced by Greg Griffith at his studio in rural Connecticut.

The sessions were fun and spur of the moment. Viv smacked some drums, Rachel slayed the electric guitar and Riley played a keyboard that literally caught on fire! They can’t wait for you to hear it all and, guess what, now you actually can!

1. Kissing Other People (written by Lennon Stella)
2. Ashes of American Flags (Wilco) Jeff Tweedy, Jay Bennett
3. Hold On Magnolia (written by Songs: Ohia)
4. Where’d all The Time Go (written by Dr. Dog)
5. Woncha Come On Home (written by Joan Armatrading)
6. A Lesson In Leavin’ (written by Dottie West)
7. Born To Lose (written by Waylon Payne)
8. Ain’t No Easy Rider (written by Dan Parsons)

This creatively masterful new recording opens on the impassioned title cut Kissing Other People and then we get the all-embracing, comforting sounds within Ashes of American Flags, the dreamy Hold On Magnolia and the aforementioned amiably ambient, harmoniously sculpted, Dr. Dog-written cut Where’d all The Time Go.

Along next is a dutifully reconstructed yearning pained plea that resonates within Joan Armatrading’s brilliant 1977 cut Woncha Come On Home which is itself backed seamlessly by the melodious A Lesson In Leavin’ the set rounding out on the beautifully structured Born To Lose, coming to an all too soon close on the beautiful perfection of Ain’t No Easy Rider.
