Title - Reflection
Artist - Deb Bowman
For those unaware, praised as “hypnotic and unforgettable,” Dynamo Deb Bowman’s performances “are cut from one rare thread” and “must be seen.”
Her vocal versatility and unmatched acting have thrilled audiences of all ages worldwide. Whether belting out Broadway and big band ballads or softly seducing you with sultry standards, she always delivers memorable musical moments that keep people coming back for more.
Her opening numbers are powerful and energetic, escalating into pure euphoria, before leading everyone in the room through many gripping emotions. “Bowman leaves everything on the stage.”
In the course of her brilliant and varied career as an actress and vocalist, Deb has embraced several diverse styles, including jazz, pop, gospel, Broadway and Latin music. She brings elements of all of these styles into her new Mama Bama Records release Reflection (due out April 11th, 2025).
Recorded over a two year period in three different states, the album was originally conceived as a tribute to three contemporary songwriters who passed between 2019 and 2023: Michael Legrand, Burt Bacharach, and Stephen Sondheim.
As Deb says, “After the initial recording sessions, life got in the way and I was unable to produce the album in a timely manner.” In retrospect, the delay may have been fortuitous, for Deb took the additional time to revise the original selections and eventually expand the album’s concept to include a wider range of songs and composers.
1. Send In The Clowns (5:13)
2. Moon River (4:42)
3. Somewhere Over The Rainbow (6:52)
4. This Girl’s In Love (4:57)
5. He Was Too Good To Me (4:10)
6. Somewhere That’s Green (4:33)
7. How Do You Keep The Music Playing (6:24)
8. ’Till There Was You (5:07)
9. Baby Mine (2:51)
Working closely with her musical director, pianist Dean Fransen, to create atmospheric settings which enhance the song lyrics, this multi-faceted singer/songwriter opens this new recording on a luxuriant Send In The Clowns and then brings us the resplendent Moon River, an atmospheric Somewhere Over The Rainbow and a rather sumptuous This Girl’s In Love.
Along next on this beautifully crafted album is an elegantly sculpted He Was Too Good To Me which is in turn backed by the sweeping Somewhere That’s Green, a simply beautiful How Do You Keep The Music Playing, the music rounding out on the gorgeously perky ’Till There Was You, closing on an impassioned Baby Mine.
