Only Murders in the Building is a mystery-comedy TV series about three strangers who become involved in a murder in their New York City apartment building.

The show follows Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, three strangers who live in the Arconia, a luxurious Upper West Side apartment building, and share a passion for true crime. When a murder occurs in the building, the trio uses their true crime knowledge to investigate and uncover the building’s secrets. They record a podcast to document their case and race to solve the mystery before it’s too late.

Even though a fair few of these tracks are only 60-90 seconds each, there are still 25 tracks here to enjoy and trust me, you will enjoy it.

A dutiful flashback score compilation - complete with Oliver’s Monologue and such - from the first three seasons of the hit TV show, Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building is an unbeatable visual and musical sensation of the highest order, that is for sure!

And this set of original scores by Siddhartha Khosla follows perfectly alongside it. Some opening skips are easy to move over, for as much as we (us fans) adore them, when it comes to this show and Khosla’s main theme, the set-up makes it impossible not to just want the hits, so to speak.

To my ear, the first two seasons are relatively similar in style and so much fun to listen to this time of year. Khosla provides listeners with brilliant tunes that take us through all sorts of emotions, even while the scene isn’t playing in front of us.

The second season especially has some of the most heartrending tracks that touch on the emotions from the heavy narratives that we watched unfold. And the third season reflects back to being a little more spooky, innovative, emotionally moving, and yet still so intrinsically crafted that there’s been nothing like it in recent years.

It’s easy to pick up on the songs while the episodes are airing, but listening to them is a whole other feeling afterward. In the same way the series took viewers by storm, the soundtrack will likely do the same once listening to it a few more times after watching.
