Title - Emerson Street
Artist - Tim Drum Family Band
For those unaware, The Tin Drum Family Band releases their first family album, one that was actually recorded during the Covid 19 pandemic, and which is a beautiful showcase of each Drummond’s gifted abilities in songwriting and musicianship.
The Tin Drum Family Band, helmed by the husband-wife team of Burleigh Drummond and Mary Harris (music veterans with impressive recording and touring resumes with Ambrosia, Tin Drum, Jimmy Buffett, Animal Logic, The Lost Dogs, Mighty Mo Rodgers and more) recently debuted a new single, “I Fall Down.”
The ‘Family Band’ angle of the group is rounded out by their children, musicians Burleigh M. Drummond (Micky) and Sierra Drummond. Stuck at home during the pandemic, without an opportunity to carry on their usual musical obligations, the four opted instead to record an album together.
The result is Emerson Street, with its first single, “I Fall Down,” streaming now. As the band tells it, the recording began as their attempt to learn the Beatles‘ version of Buck Owens’ “Act Naturally” — before something entirely new presented itself.
“As is so often the case in songwriting that working on one idea opens the door for another to appear,” said Burleigh, a founding member and the only drummer/percussionist of five-time Grammy-nominated band Ambrosia. “I Fall Down waltzed in like it was waiting for it’s grand entrance, like it had written itself, which I believe most songs do. We are just the vessels that carry the tunes.”

Along next is the playfully spirited Silk and the sterner melodic fare of Salt Creek and they are in turn backed by the glistening Signs, the delightful Never Far from Home, the album rounding out with the organic jam of Mom, closing on the piano-led, aching ballad My Sweet Lullaby.
