Title - On Fragile Wings
Artist - Thanateros

For those not in the know, the name THANATEROS is a combination of the names of the Greek gods of death (Thanatos) and love/sexuality (Eros).

Though it refers to the chaos-magical order of the “Illuminates of Thanateros” (IOT), THANATEROS is not bound to the IOT but an independent and separate band. Nevertheless, sometimes THANATEROS draws on magical and pagan motives including Celtic mythology and shamanism.

And now THANATEROS is back!

The history of THANATEROS could be divided into two chapters until now. The first one started with the forming of the band in 2000 and lasted until 2010.

The second one starts right now in these weeks and months with the release of their brand new album On Fragile Wings (out March 25th, 2022).

When and how it will end isn’t told until yet!

1. Kybalion (Time To Fly)
2. Burn
3. On The Barricades
4. Coven Of The Drowned
5. Passengers
6. Black Forest Calling
7. We Are The Ravens
8. Source Of It All
9. Solitude
10. Fading
11. Nothing Lasts Forever
12. Running Up That Hill

This vibrantly powerful, aesthetically solid new album opens on the atmospheric growth of Kybalion (Time To Fly) and the free flowing Burn and backs those up seamlessly with the orchestrally-imbed beauty On The Barricades, the Celtic-force of Coven Of The Drowned, the compelling dominant Passengers and then comes the evocative storytelling of Black Forest Calling.

Up next is one of my own personal favorites, the vividly expressive rock of We Are The Ravens and the goth rock, throaty pseudo-balladry of Source Of It All, and they are in turn followed by the stirringly ambient Solitude, the mid-tempo rock of Fading, the album rounding out with the mindful lyrics within Nothing Lasts Forever, coming to a close on a quite stunning rendition of Kate Bush’s pop classic Running Up That Hill.
