For those unaware, Slide Attack is a two trombone driven quintet led by Alan Goidel and Howard Levy. They play fresh arrangements of jazz standards, originals, popular songs and music from the bebop and hard bop eras.

Their brand new album Road Trip (due out June 4th, 2021) is comprised of nine original tunes by Howard Levy, Alan Goidel and Hiroshi Yamazaki.

From straight ahead and Latin Jazz, to jazz rock, this album is ear catching, enjoyable, full of surprises and will put a smile on your face!

This freshly crisp and energetic new album opens on the addictive, finger-snapping melodies of both Spring Roll and the title track Road Trip and back those up with the beautiful mid-tempo hipsway of Clauditti, the forthright piano work back bone of Struttin and then we get the laid back ambiance of Look Within.

Up next is the zesty foot-tapper Owens which is itself backed by the lushly orchestrated, late night, smoky jazz club appeal of A Walk In The Park, with the album rounding out on the hypnotic cadence of Early Morning, closing on the animated Bluedemic.

Alan Goidel is a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia, where he received a bachelors degree in Music Education. He also received a masters degree in Jazz/Commercial Music from the Manhattan School of Music.

Alan has been a freelance trombonist in the New York area, where he has worked in many different musical settings. He has performed with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Larry Elgart Orchestra, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Jacki Byard and the Apollo Stompers, the Harold Ousley Big Band, The Four Freshmen, Jay Black and the Americans, numerous Latin bands, Club Date bands, regional theatre pit orchestras, jazz combos, as well as symphony orchestras.

Howard Levy is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, where he received a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance. He then received a masters degree from Lehman College in Applied Music. Howard has been performing as a trombonist in the NY tri-state area for many years.

He has performed with some of the industries top professionals. Some of Howards credits include The American Jazz Orchestra at Cooper Union, the Larry Elgart Orchestra, the Stan Rubin Orchestra, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, the Smithsonian Masterworks Orchestra, and the Concord Hotel Orchestra where Levy has performed with some of the nations biggest stars.

He has toured with the Broadway shows Makin Whoopie and Chicago. Levy is a veteran of several Club Date and Latin Bands.
