Title - 'Building'
Artist - Shannon LaBrie

For those not in the know, soulful songstress Shannon LaBrie is set to release a new LP, entitled Building, on September 25th, 2020.

Written in 2019, each song holds significant importance and relevance now more than ever.

Building offers listeners a journey to self-discovery and reflection with songs about finding strength in pain, spiritual guidance, and words that turn to bullets, as in the song 'The Things We Say' as she sings, “The things we say, it’s the weapon of the age.”

Indeed, Building is the follow-up to LaBrie’s first full-length album, entitled War & Peace, which earned LaBrie and her music critical acclaim and respect within the music industry.

Furthermore, Rolling Stone praised the 2016 project saying, “Her songs unfold with style and subtlety, coasting over the album's lush, beautiful arrangements via LaBrie's gorgeous voice.”

1. 'Firewalker'
2. 'Raining Hallelujah'
3. 'Angels Fall'
4. 'The Things We Say'
5. 'Building'
6. 'One In a Billion'
7. 'It’s Good To Be King'

The album (with all seven songs written or co-written by LaBrie) opens with her current single 'Firewalker,' a heroic anthem that just gains some succulent blues rock traction as it builds, and that's backed by 'Raining Hallelujah,' a drum-led, mid-tempo track that allows LaBrie's brand of storytelling to come crisply through.

The beautiful guitar ballad 'Angels Fall' allows for a vein of yearning calm to flow freely, and that's backed by the soulful piano work of 'The Things We Say.'

The album then rounds out with the Americana, soft hue shuffle of the title track, 'Building,' which is followed by the soothing AOR of 'One In A Billion,' closing on a Tom Petty cover (from his magnificent 1994 album Wildflowers), Labrie's rendition of 'It's Good To Be King' (where she uses her smooth and sultry vocal to bring new light, and female perspective to a song based off of the male ego).
