Title - 'Soul Shifter'
Artist - Vinnie Moore

For those not in the know, the follow-up to Vinnie Moore's critically acclaimed 2015 Aerial Visions album will be released on October 9th, 2019 via his very own label, Mind's Eye Music.

Entitled Soul Shifter", Vinnie's ninth solo album not only comprises 10 brand new tracks, but also features a whole host of guest appearances: such as legendary artists Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne) and Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), with Richie Monica on drums, Michael Bean (bassist from Vinnie's Time Odyssey album), John Cassidy (keyboards), and John Pessoni (drums).

Worldly considered one of the originators of shred guitar, it's also interesting to know that Vinnie has himself progressed from his shredder days to a more blues-orientated sound.

1. 'Funk Bone Jam' (05:01)
2. 'Same Sun Shines' (04:45)
3. 'Kung Fu Grip' (04:49)
4. 'Mystified' (03:37)
5. 'Brother Carlos' (04:31)
6. 'Gainesville Station' (04:26)
7. 'Soul Rider' (04:00)
8. 'Mirage' (04:13)
9. 'Heard You Were Gone' (04:54)
10. 'Across the Ages' (05:10)

Paying homage to his influences on this new album, songs such as the blues/rock hipsway of 'Brother Carlos' came to be because, as Vinnie himself admits, "I wrote that as a tribute to Carlos Santana.”

Furthermore, on an album of all hits and no fillers, 'Heard You Were Gone' was written about the late CEO of Dean Guitars Elliott Rubinson, who was also a member of Vinnie’s touring band.

Simply put, this new album is Vinnie effortlessly fusing classical structure and melody with the energy of metal. It's as if Bach, Mozart, or Beethoven were composing metal music today!

Highly technical, but always melodic, intelligent, and memorable, this album's positive energy is contagious and inspiring. Even the rhythm guitar tracks are noteworthy and all come together to showcase the fact that Vinnie's genius is clearly evident; and has yet to be duplicated.

“Solo records are a great vehicle because the canvas is totally open and I can paint whatever and wherever I want," Vinnie adds. "There’s total freedom in not having boundaries."

"All of my influences are on the canvas, from Rock to Blues to Be-Bop to Funk, even R&B and beyond. I have always felt music deeply even before I played guitar."

"After I began playing, it became my vehicle to express and release what I feel inside. I love channeling my soul into melodies and songs.”
