Title - 'House Of Cards - Season 3' [2CD]
Artist - Jeff Beal

Winner of the 2015 Emmy for best score, this is a double-disc package like the two previous seasons for the hit Netflix program, 'House of Cards' featuring Kevin Spacey.

For those that have thus far not taken the ride, 'House Of Cards,' featuring Majority House Whip Francis Underwood (Spacey) takes you on a long journey as he exacts his vengeance on those he feels wronged him - that is, his own cabinet members including the President of the United States himself.

Dashing, cunning, methodical and vicious, Frank Underwood along with his equally manipulative yet ambiguous wife, Claire take Washington by storm through climbing the hierarchical ladder to power in this Americanized recreation of the BBC series of the same name.

As for the composer himself, well, Jeff Beal is a fast rising TV composer of the highest order, trust me. With both HBO's The Newsroom and NBC's The Dovekeepers completed in the last year, Beal is already lining up new projects - and deservedly so.

The season 3 score has everything that I've enjoyed from previous releases. The jazzy trumpet, light piano, long dark tones, and haunting strings still conjure up images of the street lights reflecting on the wet pavement of a misty and cold Washington D.C. night. The music, broken down over 27 tracks over the two CDs, is as beautiful as a you would imagine it to be, with Beal managing to balance those moments of composed elegance with just a hint of character deviousness. Bravo, my friend. Bravo!

BTW, if you honestly haven't seen this show yet, Spacey is every bit as good as Ian Richardson (from the original UK version), thus (at the time) Netflix's big gamble fully deserved it's now big pay off.
