Verdict: 'Alexander' is an ambitious and sincere film that unfortunately fails to find a focus for its elusive subject. The film, which loses its compass very early, wallows in excess and yet - at times - is boldly acted, absorbing and satisfying as a history lesson and chock-full of extravagantly brutal battle sequences! But, at three hours long, this is definitely on long-ass, butt and mind-numbing film that only the patient of historians will have time for!
