'Alfie'
(Jude Law, Sienna Miller, Susan Sarandon / PG-13 / 85 mins / Paramount)
Overview: A British bachelor in Manhattan named Alfie Elkins (Jude Law) balances several relationships at once, but eventually his womanizing makes him question his seemingly carefree lifestyle.
Verdict: Bright, entertaining, cleverly updated and utterly satisfying, the remake of Michael Caine's 'Alfie' ends up to be about a hundred minutes of the most hackneyed voiceover narration in film history - non-stop and infuriating! Like its hero, the film looks good but can't commit, talks the talk but has nothing to say! This 'Alfie' just can't seem to match the original's shock factor in any way, shape or form - and therein lies its major problem.
