'Freddy Vs. Jason'
(Robert Englund, Kane Hodder / R / 123 mins / New Line)

Overview: Teenagers find themselves caught in the middle of a dream battle between two famous forces of evil: Freddy Krueger ('A Nightmare on Elm Street') and Jason Voorhees ('Friday the 13th') go mano y mano, as Freddy enters the dream world of Jason. The movie is said to start on Elm Street before eventually winding its way to Camp Crystal Lake for the final showdown.

Verdict: Dumb, but occasionally fun, the long-awaited 'Freddy Vs. Jason' lacks the knowing wit needed to keep it afloat in an age when even the horror spoofs have been spoofed. In point of fact, the sentimental novelty of watching two childhood antiheroes have at it dissipates once you realize the lugubrious lengths to which the screenplay must go in order to make that happen! far more horrible than horrifying, 'Freddy Vs. Jason' is nothing more than a good concept with mediocre execution. To be brutally honest, it's hard to imagine even diehard fans of either character really caring, when the outcome is clearly predetermined!
