'Takedown'
By: W.G. Griffiths
(Paperback / 368 Pages / Warner Faith / ISBN: 0446678929 / $13.95)
Description:In the second chilling installment of W. G. Griffith's spiritual thriller series, Detective Gavin Pierce must once again confront his old nemesis. New York detective Gavin Pierce thinks his life is back to normal now that he has accomplished the impossible task of defeating a centuries-old demon. With Krogan - the demon serial killer he faced in Driven - taken care of, Gavin feels secure in his victory. But he soon discovers that this fight is far from over.
Verdict:After the cliffhanger in the first book, I was expecting to have to buckle my seatbelt for another wild ride, and I wasn't disappointed. Krogan continues to give me nightmares and the terrorist, truly scary, may have actually hit a little too close to home. Hopefully the book won't give the wrong person more information than they should have. The story flowed well and Griffiths is a master at setting the mood. The angels in the arena was a nice touch. I felt myself reaching out for Gavin and want to know what happens to him from here. Where will Krogan wind up next? Also, the dialogue between Gavin and Grell was even more entertaining than the first book, which I loved. Highly recommendable.
