Overview: A simple road trip turns deadly when a young couple picks up a mysterious hitchhiker and takes a wrong turn into another reality. Thrown into the middle of a savage intergalactic war between humans and aliens, escape becomes impossible and survival means choosing sides in a cosmic bloodbath that will decide the fate of worlds.

DVD Verdict: In all honesty and as much as I actually liked this movie, Boneless is an ultra-low-budget Italian sci-fi horror B-movie directed by Dario Bagatin that delivers cheesy over-the-top schlock and creative practical effects alongside a (sometimes) confusing plot.

Again, not that any of that should dissuade you from tuning into this film, as it does have a lot going for it on screen, but the plot does twist and turn a little too much for my liking.

For the most part, the movie works as a passionate homage to drive-in trash cinema and features fun creature costumes, stop-motion sequences, and solid practical effects. However, the overall narrative along with some of the stilted dialogue does come across, well, silly at times, the cinematography notoriously dark, and the English dubbing/dialogue quite hard to understand when a lot is being said.

Having won festival recognition like Best Horror Film at the FI PI LI Horror Festival for its bold B-movie aesthetic attempts, I think it needs to be classified as one of those flicks that was so bad it was good, so to speak!
