Overview: Calvin is a freelance cameraman working on a low budget film production with director Bruce and sound man Jimmy, but when he sees a mysterious face in the wall of an old film location that only him and a few of his friends can see, things start to get a little weird!

This is the special edition version of the supernatural thriller The Face In The Wall and contains special features such as deleted scenes, and never before seen behind the scenes footage.

DVD Verdict: To be very honest here, after having now watched this film with some friends (last night) I am very surprised that it has been labelled (in some quarters) as a horror film; because, and maybe only to me, I get that, it just felt like overall the director (Dwayne Buckle) was going for more of a modern day, thoughtful science fiction piece.

And with that in mind, and if that was indeed the case, for the most part the film works, but most definitely not, in my humble opinion, as a so-called horror flick. I mean, sure, the movie definitely has some problems. The acting and dialogue can be rather clunky at times, especially once the characters start using scientific jargon. It’s at those times their speeches come across stilted, read off prompt boars, and not even anything they themselves sound like they would even know about.

The camera work could use some improvement, especially because some of the shots are really grainy, but then again that might have something to do with how the director wanted the scenes to be portrayed, of course. And as for how they chose to portray the main character of this film, the face, well, let’s just say that the visual effects for it leave a lot to be desired re: your imagination; and how deeply you are yourself invested in the film, will determine if it takes you out of the film or not.
