Blu-ray Verdict: Deep in the forgotten backwoods, a feral cult of cannibal freaks are waiting ... to hunt screaming victims. And feast on HUMAN FLESH! Can Tara and Meghan survive? Or will they PRAY FOR DEATH?

Savage Vengeance is a micro-budget, schlocky horror film directed by Jake Zelch that reimagines Donald Farmer’s 1993 cult classic. In what is more of a nod and a wink to that original, the film has pockets of muffled sound design issues, perhaps some disjointed pacing, and a whole bunch of what I can only describe as amateur acting, and yet was a thoroughly enjoyable watch from start to finish.

At times even unintentionally hilarious and yet still very much perfect for a bad movie night in with friends, the plot may well be as simple as Tara (Roni Jonah) and her friend Meghan (Jasper Evans) crossing paths with a group of dangerous, cannibalistic criminals on the run, but wow, it truly gives a lot on the entertainment scales.
