'Making A Killing'
(Michael Jai White, Mike Starr, Jude Moran, Aida Turturro, Jack Forcinato, et al / DVD / NR / (2017) 2018 / MVD Visual)

Overview: Three morticians get caught in a web of greed and deceit, involving buried treasure and a tangled love affair, in this modern day crime mystery that is based on a true story.

DVD Verdict: In truth, and given that I watch a lot of these B-movies for work purposes, 'Making A Killing' is a very effective, low budget true crime story, it has to be said.

Somewhat flat in intermittent moments, but most times upbeat and very straightforward with the audience, both Michael Jai White ('Spawn') and Christopher Lloyd ('Back To The Future') steal the acting show for me here.

They both get into their characters, embody their roles splendidly and genuinely seem excited to be there. Mike Starr and Jude Moran were, sadly to my mind, too bland in their character assessments and just let he scenery guide them.

The plot, which twists and turns (one too many times for my liking though, is a good one, a salaciously left of center one at that, which is nice to report in this been-there, done-that cinematic world we currently live in.

As aforementioned, 'Making A Killing' revolves around three morticians who get caught in a web of greed and deceit, involving buried treasure and a tangled love affair; all based on a true story (so they say).

Sure, if you know movies of this genre, it's pretty obvious what's going on with the brothers here, but the tale is fairly crazy enough to keep one's interest throughout, as mentioned. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
