Title - Wither Rewired
Artist - Stabbing Westward
For those unaware, thirty years after the release of their Gold-certified breakthrough album, Wither Blister Burn + Peel, Stabbing Westward return with Wither ReWired, a completely new recording of the landmark 1996 album.
This is not a remaster or remix. The band rebuilt the record from the ground up, bringing three decades of experience and renewed intensity to the songs that helped define the alternative and industrial rock sound of the 1990s.
Originally released by Columbia Records, Wither Blister Burn + Peel introduced Stabbing Westward to a worldwide audience through songs including Shame and What Do I Have to Do? The album remains a defining release in the band’s catalog and a cornerstone of its era.
Produced by founding members Christopher Hall and Walter Flakus, mastered by Tom Baker, and featuring new artwork by David Seidman, Wither ReWired preserves the emotional impact of the original while delivering the power, clarity, and weight of Stabbing Westward today.
Wither ReWired is both a celebration of the album’s 30th anniversary and a new statement from the artists who created it: a landmark record rebuilt by the band that lived it.

As I think we are all well aware by now, Stabbing Westward’s 1996 sophomore album, Wither Blister Burn + Peel, is widely reviewed as a defining, guitar-driven industrial rock release that successfully blended aggressive electronic textures with mainstream alternative hooks.
Following a more commercial move including pseudo-anthemic choruses and lack of the misanthropic introspection found on the band’s first album Ungod, Wither Blister Burn & Peel feels more impersonal, also because the band wasn’t specialized in writing memorable songs. The rest is treated as filler, though Crushing Me’s funereal pace recalls future experiments done by Mourning Beloveth and closer Slipping Away features well-placed tense electronic touches to create a nervous atmosphere.
A missed opportunity? Perhaps, but back then they were being pointed int he right direction by band managers, label executives and the money men behind the scenes. But now they have their hands back on the project and having reinvented it, overhauled it from the ground up, this album is as all killer, no filler, as it ever was, of that you have my word.
