For those not in the know, this is a previously unreleased double LP of crazed psych rock from the High Priest of Love himself Zodiac Mindwarp & Super Producer and Killing Joke bass player Youth.

The album also features Nik Turner from Hawkwind on sax and Brian James from The Damned on guitar and thus this brand new project has culminated in what can only be described as being a rambunctiously entangled psychedelic odyssey that has been entitled Carnival Of Souls (out now via Creation Youth).

For longtime fans of Zodiac Mindwarp, Youth, Killing Joke, The Damned, Hawkwind, Stooges and, of course, MC5, they open on the pulsating brilliance of The Gun That’s In My Hands and the low slung guitar funk of Electricity and then we get brought forth the gravel-toned rocker Atmosphere, the swirling psych pop wonderment of White Witch, the driven Bummed Out In Memphis, and then we get both the lighter, mid-tempo fare of Romona and the screeching, veritably spoken word Burn Down Your House.

Along next is the funkily-grooved, alt-pop beauty Howl and the throaty grinder Gay Friend and they are in turn backed seamlessly by the drum-led psych-rocker Texas & The Big Beat, the rhythmic rock of Walk After Midnight and the gritty guitar cut Whatever, the set rounding out on the translucently wavering, shimmering musical cutlet that is Texas Jesus, coming to a close on the low slung ambiance, latterly strikingly propellent The Carnival Of Souls.
