Title - 'Ride' (Real Records)
Artist - Marc Berger

Inspired by Marc Berger’s lifelong love affair with the American West, and together with Mike Ricciardi (Drums, Percussion), Jack O’Hara (Bass, Electric and Slide Guitars), D’raz on Accordion, and Rob Meador on Mandolin, aside from his depth of vocals, Berger takes up his Acoustic Guitar and joyous-sounding Harmonica to bring us the incredible Ride.

Produced by Marc and Mike Ricciardi, this wonderful new, cinematically-expansive 10 track album strives from the very first chord struck to capture the spirit the American West - and succeeds on every level.

In truth, Berger's life has been about pursuing twin passions: creating and recording his American roots songs, and exploring remote areas of the desert and mountain West. He has even performed at Austin’s South by Southwest and The Kerrville Folk Festival, and opened shows for Bob Dylan and other national acts.

And so here on Ride he kicks things off with the slow train shuffle of 'Nobody Gonna Ride On the Railroad,' before the (orchestrated-that-way) apprehensive lead into 'Take It On The Chin' comes forth. The title track is next, before 'Time Waits For No Man' chugs its way down the line to our souls.

The mellow sounds of 'A Bottle of Wine, A Suitcase, An Umbrella' are next, with the music turned up for the highly-impressive 'Twister' following thereafter. The quieter gentle storytelling sway sway of 'Montana' is fun, and is backed by 'Object of My Affection,' the hamronica-driven 'Long Way From Vixenburg,' before the album rounds out with the haunting echoes of 'Heavenly Ancients.'

For the record, other featured artists include: Eric “Roscoe” Ambel (Steve Earle, The Del- Lords, Joan Jett)- Electric and Acoustic Guitars; Tony Garnier (Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Paul Simon) – Upright Bass; Walter Strauss – Piano and Lead Acoustic Guitar; Rich DePaolo – Fretless Bass; Joe Flood (Levon Helm)- Mandolin and Fiddle; and Alex Specker – Dobro Steel Guitar.
