Title - 'Millennium' [Picture Disc]
Artist - Backstreet Boys

New Digital Interactive Experience Backstreet Boys: Millennium Match Celebrates 1999's Top-Selling Album!

The Millennium (20th Anniversary) Collectible Limited Edition Picture Disc Vinyl Was Just-Released Worldwide August 16th, 2019.

Millennium, the album that catapulted the Backstreet Boys to global superstardom in 1999, hit its 20th anniversary on Saturday, May 18th and the group invited their fans to help them celebrate during Millennium Week.

For May 13th (aka Millennium Monday) marked the launch of Backstreet Boys: Millennium Match, a digital interactive experience celebrating BSB's iconic third studio album.

Millennium bridged the 20th and 21st centuries as 1999's top-selling album, and generated four indelible hit singles including BSB's signature track, 'I Want It That Way' as well as 'Larger Than Life,' 'Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely,' and 'The One.'

The BSB Millennium Match digital experience analyzes a fan's Spotify streaming history to match each fan with a playlist of BSB songs inspired by one of those singles.

Backstreet Boys: Millennium Match

The BSB: Millennium Match experience takes into account danceability, energy and valence levels to determine whether a fan's vibe is, for example, 'Larger Than Life' and suited to some bonafide Backstreet Boys hits.

Or perhaps they have a soft spot for a tender love song, then 'The One' is the perfect playlist for them. Overall art direction is heavily influenced by the year 2000, including shareable social assets and copy that all pay homage to the Millennium.

A collectible, limited edition 12" picture disc vinyl edition of Millennium was just-released by Sony Music Entertainment on Friday, August 16th, 2019 and is available now to own. (A limited-run 12" vinyl color variant of the album will be released exclusively through Urban Outfitters from Friday, July 19th onward).

In fact, special 20th anniversary versions of the Backstreet Boys Millennium official music videos will be released online throughout the Millennium 20th anniversary week (May 13th-18th).

The first Millennium 20 Edition video, 'I Want It That Way' (a blend of the BSB's original video and insightful fun facts for fans) premiered on April 12th, 2019 (20 years to the day after the release of the original single on April 12th, 1999).

As for the album itself, well the Backstreet Boys returned with the follow up to their huge self-titled album in fine form here on Millennium, that's for darn sure!

A joyous, well balanced mix of up-tempo euro pop songs and slow meaningful ballads - that went on to make the album the biggest of that summer - with all the hype about them at the time about whether or not they could still come up with the goods, the Boys actually produced the best work of their lives, in my humble opinion!

The albums first single 'I Want It That Way' followed much the same pattern as their top five smash 'As Long As You Love Me' and that's probably why it got so much airplay back then.

The guitar work on the song is actually rather phenomenal as the Boys experiment with different instruments over the old drum machines. ASCAP Co-Songwriter of the year Max Martin does an incredible job as the producer and writer of most of the album, it should also be known.

Working his magic on tracks such as the aforementioned first single, 'The One' and 'Larger Than Life' it's the ballads on the album that knock your socks off here, to be sure.

Especially on 'Back To Your Heart,' the albums best track and a song that will melt even a guys heart, me thinks! The Boys had a mission on this album and they accomplished it ten-fold.

They once again proved that they were the top boy band around and that they could truly sing and play their respected instruments. Ergo, Millennium is (still) a classic pop album that showcase the Backstreet Boys as the world's biggest group (of that time, and possibly in history - it just depends on who you talk to, I guess!).
